I paid around $15 total and received $5 Up Rewards for my Revlon purchases and $10 Up Rewards for the lip extravaganza deal currently going on.
I've been very excited since Rite Aid put out massive amounts of new cosmetic displays this week. There have also been great Rite Aid facebook coupons and sales this week. I also got very lucky with clearance finds.

This weeks haul was a pretty decent haul. I got a few beauty items and then items to stock away for when we move into our new place. This week there weren't too many Extra Buck Makeup sales.
On my weekly Sunday budget haul I picked up Tide ($8.99), Jerome Alexander Hot Stuff makeup palettes ($10.99 each), N.Y.C. lipgloss ($1.99), Revlon Blush ($9.99), Sally Hansen Hard as Nails nail strengthener ($3.99) and Cuticle RX ($6.49), Venus Razor ($7.29), Garnier Dark Spot Hand Treatments ($7.99 each), Oral B stain removing and whitening toothbrush ($9.99), Neosporin ($5.49), and Character Band Aids ($4.99 each). The total retail price for all the items below is $92.70. After sale prices, store coupons, manufacturer coupons and store rewards, my bill came to $5.88. Not only was my bill $5.88 but I got a free $10 gas card and $28 Extra Bucks towards next visit. This week there are some fantastic sales at Rite Aid. Maybelline and Neutrogena cosmetics are 40% off. Revlon lip products are $6.99 each with $1 Up Reward bonus. Also if you spend $15 on Sally Hansen you get $5 Up Rewards for use on next purchase.
There are some great Video Value Coupons on Riteaid.com that apply to these sales. Plus you can use a manufacturer coupon with the Rite Aid coupon. At Rite Aid I picked up Neutrogena Healthy Skin makeup ($13.95), Revlon Colorstay Moisture Renew glosses ($9.99 each), Maybelline Deam Blush Bouncy ($8.29), Sally Hansen miracle nail thickener ($7.99), Maybelline BabyLips Crystal ($4.19), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear nail polish ($3.19), Neutrogena Shine Control Powder ($14.99),Sally Hansen Triple Shine polish ($4.99), Sally Hansen Insta Dy Matte polish ($5.49), Fergie Wet n Wild Nail Polish ($3.49) and Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Polish ($7.99) Total retail cost of the items I bought was $94.50. After sale prices, store coupons, manufacturer coupons and store rewards I paid $20.17 for all the makeup below. I hit a major clearance Jackpot at the Rite Aid near my summer cottage. They recently redid the inside of the store. I'm assuming this was a reason for all the ridiculous clearance items. The first part of my haul is the Physicians Formula finds. The green eye and purple eyeliner boxes were not on clearance. They are $11.95 each. But with a BOGO Free sale and 2 $3 coupons the cost for $23.90 dollars worth of eyeliners was $5.95. I also used 2 $3 coupons again and got the brown and blue boxes of eyeliners for $5.95. So in total I spent $11.90 for $47.80 worth of eyeliners. I love Physicians Formula eyeliners! I bought these separately before the clearance haul and used a $10 Up Reward coupon so I really only paid $1.90 for 12 eyeliners. A Mineral Wear Talc-Free Primer was originally $12.97 and on clearance for $2.72. An Organic Wear mascara was originally $9.99 and was on clearance for $2.43. The mascara was in a BOGO free box so there were 2 mascaras in the box for $2.43. Cover Girl Clump Crusher and Lash Blast Luxe were originally $8.99 and were on sale for $2.24 each. I used 2 $1 off Cover Girl MFC so I paid $1.24 each. I was so surprised to find these Kiss Nails on clearance. I bought and reviewed a pair of the Gel Fantasy Ready to Wear nails the week before. These are the best ready to wear nails I have ever used. They are sturdy, natural looking, have beautiful designs and don't come off until you remove them with polish remover. They lasted for 6 days for me and then I had to take them off because I was having.nail painting withdrawal. These are normally $7.99 and were on clearance for $1.99 One of the newer NYC gloss crayons was on clearance for .74 cents. This Wet n Wild bronzer blush was originally $3.99 and was on clearance for .99. I have wanted to try the Wet n Wild Mega Glo bronzers for a while and I'm happy I found it for only .99 I found 2 Sinful Colors nail polishes for .49 each. (Regularly $1.99) One was a creamy dark yellow called 'Pull Over'. The other was a rich royal purple called 'Go Go Boots'
Here are the other Ariel themed items that are at Walgreens. There are 3 cosmetic gift sets at $4.99. They are a lip gloss set, bronzer and brush set and an eyeshadow set.
Below is an Ariel beauty book with eyeshadows, mini gloss, bronzer and brush. Next to the beauty book is an crystal brush set with a travel case. Each of these are $9.99. Scunci is also in the Ariel themed game. They came out with 2 headbands and a pony tail elastic set in ocean themes. They are $3.99 each. These are all Walgreens only exclusives. Once again, I can't express how much I love the theme and colors of this collection. The little mermaid is my favorite Disney movie and makeup is my favorite hobby. Now that the 2 are combined my mind is blown. The artwork and colors alone were enough for me to buy it. This brush set and pouch are the cutest set I have ever seen. The set comes with 5 brushes and a carrying case. The brushes are a lip brush, defining eye brush, powder brush, eyeshadow brush and angled eyeliner brush. I don't really use a lip brush but I'm sure I will find another use for it.
I use E.L.F. Eyeshadow brushes in my daily makeup routine. They are soft and apply the perfect amount of makeup. These brushes feel and apply makeup the same way. The handles are made to look crystal like with transparent turquoise plastic and bumps on the handles. I get how the bumpy pattern makes it look more 'crystal like' but the bumps are sometimes annoying to hold after a while. They can almost hurt my fingers if I'm grasping them too hard. I feel these are decent brushes that I can use everyday or take with me to work or when traveling. For $9.99 you could get a bigger set of brushes elsewhere but they wouldn't have Ariel on them or look so darn cute! If you are a Disney and a makeup fan I suggest picking these up. If you need a travel set of brushes these would be perfect too! This set is available only at Walgreens for '$9.99. I can't tell you how much I love this E.L.F and Disney themed collection. I would buy this just for the artwork and packaging alone. This is the 'Treasures Within' beauty book. I seriously am going to figure out how to display these boxes. The beauty book contains 9 shadows, 2 bronzers, a mini lipgloss, a mini blush brush and a full sized eyeshadow brush. I like how E.L.F. puts actual brushes in some of their palettes and beauty kits. On the left is a shell design that is actually a mirror! I think that is so practical yet adorable. Under the mirror it says 'You've got your own style'. Below are close ups of the shadows and bronzers. I like how under the pink gloss it says 'go on and kiss the girl'. Below are the swatches of the eyeshadows. They all have ocean themed names. I must say that I loved each of these shadows. They all were soft, pigmented and went on very smooth. One stroke was all it took. I love the range and sea theme of the colors. The bronzers were also very pigmented. They were matte and not orange at all. I wish they had made 1 big one instead of 2 smaller bronzers. It was a little hard to fit my blush brush in it. The lipgloss was a nice sheer pink. It wasn't too thick or too watery. It had a nice consistency. Overall I can't express how much I love this beauty book. Not only is the box gorgeous, the makeup inside is great too! I like the formula and colors of the eyeshadows. If you like using colors in your makeup, this is definitely something to get. If you are more of a neutral or 'less is more' type of makeup fan then this might not be something to get. You would be wasting your money just getting it for 2 shadows.
This is available only at Walgreens for $9.99. Here are some more new displays that have been showing up at Harmon and Walgreens.
I saw a new display for Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss at Harmon. At Walgreens I saw a new l'Oreal display for Glossy Balm Crayons, New Rimmel Moisture renew lip sticks, New Sinful Colors nail polish display and new Milani gel powder eyeshadows. These should be coming to stores anytime if they are not already there. Harmons has the newest cosmetics out before other stores AND they are $1-$3 cheaper than they would be in drugstores. There is always something I find I have to own at Harmon's. I have to set a budget when I come here. They accept manufacturer coupons. Last weekend I bought a NYX eyeshadow palette in 'Sex Bomb'. It was $5.99. I bought it because they had a tester palette open and the shadows swatched very smooth and easy. I either love or hate NYX shadows. I loved the combination of shimmer and matte shadows In the Sex Bomb palette. Plus I don't own a red eyeshadow and I was interested in trying it. I also bought 2 Bonne Bell eyeshadow quads. I know that Bonne Bell just came out with a new revamped cosmetics line incuding eye shadows, lipsticks and polishes. I deci ded to give the eyeshadows a try. They were on sale for 2 for $6.50.
Lastly I bought a new nail polish from the Maybelline Color Show Veils collection. This is a line of glittery and shimmery topcoats. I bought a deep purple/blue glitter called 'Amethyst Aura'. I loved the bluish deep purple color of this glitter. The polishes at Harmon were $2.99. If you are lucky enough to have a Harmon nearby, check out the newest items from all the major drugstore cosmetic brands. I love the selection of new and permanent collection cosmetics. I will be reviewing these products in future posts. I always forget that TJ Maxx has a great cosmetic and beauty products department. They have brand from NARS, Clinique and Estée Lauder to E.L.F, O.P.I. And Essie. And these brands are phenomenally priced. On my last TJ Maxx trip one of the things I picked up was a 6 shadow palette from E.L.F. One thing about TJ Maxx is that if you don't get it as soon as you see it, it probably won't be there tomorrow. This is a smokey eyeshadow palette that is part of the 'Class of 2014' themed cosmetics from E.L.F. I think the theme means that these are some of the top eyeshadow colors for this year, There are 6 shadows in the palette. An off white, tan, dusty pink, charcoal grey, plum, and black. You can tell in the picture the black shadow has glitter. The other shades also are glittery/shimmery but not as much as the black. The swatches below are over Wet n Wild Fergie Primer. The picture on the right is taken with a flash to show the shimmer/glitter. The white and tan shadows are good base or highlighting shadows. They go on very smooth. One brush stroke was all that was needed to swatch it. Sometimes with E.L.F. Shadows they are dry and patchy. I have to keep going over it to build up any color. These 2 shadows were not like that at all. They went on even with great color. The pink and the charcoal grey also had great color payoff and consistency. They were smooth with no fallout when I swatched it on my arm. I love the eyeshadow combination of pink and grey. That's actually the main reason I got this palette. These 2 shadows didn't let me down in consistency or color. The last 2 shadows were a plum and black. The plum was the most matte of all the shades and the black had the most stand out glitter. But unfortunately the plum was also the dry and patchy shadow consistency that I mentioned before. I had to go over the swatch 3 times to even it out. The black shadow had nice consistency and color payoff as the other 4 shadows. I liked that there was no huge glitter fallout even though this shadow had the most concentration of glitter in it. Overall this was one of the better eyeshadow palettes I have gotten from E.L.F. They tend to have a lot of colors with the dry, scratchy, patchy shadow formula. This one only had one of those and the other 5 were excellent in formula and color. They went on smooth and had nice, rich color. As I mentioned before my favorite combination of shadow colors is pink and grey and this palette has a nice duo of those colors.
For $2.99 I think this is a great portable palette. It has very useable colors and fits easily in my purse for touch ups throughout the day. Check out T.J. Maxx to see their selection of E.L.F. And other cosmetics. There are a lot of permanent Maybelline collection items going on clearance at Walgreens. If your Walgreens doesn't have these marked clearance, scan them anyway to check. 4 or 5 of the Color Tattoo's are on clearance. One of them is 'Bold Gold'. There are 2 golds in the permanent Color Tattoo collection. Only 'Bold Gold' is on clearance for $3.24 Several of the Color Whisper lipsticks are on clearance for $3.24 as well. I picked up the shade 'Go Nude'. The Color Tattoo in Bold Gold swatched better than I thought. I'm not a big fan of gold shadows because they tend to wash me out. But this hue of gold atually accented my eyes and skin instead if dull it down. Like other color tattoos I have, it swatched great. Once it sets you can build up the color. It goes on smooth and even with no patches. It has a nice almost metallic sheen to it. At Walgreens this month you can use the monthly coupon book to get another $1 off bringing this shadow down to less than $3. I definitely recommend picking this one up as well as any of the other Color Tattoo's on clearance such as Pomegranate or Asphalt. The Color Whisper lipstick in 'Go nude' is a sheer tan. It really has the least amount of color possible before making it clear. If you are looking for bold color or actually any color then this shade is not for you. Most of the Color Whispers are extremely sheer but some give a really nice water color looking shade to lips. I will probably use this on top of matte lipstick or throw it in my purse to use when I don't want really any color on my lips. It has a silky texture but I feel like I have to reapply the Color Whispers a lot more than other lipsticks. If you are interested in this shade or other shades check out the clearance prices on these at Walgreens. For these and other Maybelline clearance items, check out your local Walgreens. New cosmetic displays are popping up every day at Walgreens as well. I love Target for many reasons. One of the main reasons is their awesome clearance sections. Especially in the beauty department.
We went to get my 20 month old daughter water shoes and even she knows my obsession for makeup. We walked by the beauty department and she points and says 'Mommy makeup!!!'. In the aisles I found 2 L'Oreal Color Riche Caresse Lipsticks on clearance for $2.38. (One had a price of $5.58 but it scanned $2.38). These retail for $7.99. I have noticed the Caresse lipsticks on clearance in most drugstores as well. L'Oreal must be discontinuing them for a reformulated Caresse lipstick or a completely new lipstick to take its place. I also found a Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow quad on clearance for $1.78. I feel that my skin is getting more issues the older I get. Most recently I had a skin infection of the hair follicles which left me with horrible acne like scars on my face, neck and arms. I went to CVS to try and find something to help with the dark scars and unevenness of my skin.
I was expecting to spend around $30 dollars on a jar or some type of cream. I ended up getting $90 worth of skin products for $14. Now that its summer I have a little bit more time to dedicate to my hobbies like nail art. I have gotten a few things over the past 2 months that I can't wait to use. This is one of them. Kiss has put together a great starter kit of things you would need for doing nail art at home. The awesome types of glitter is what caught my eye. Below are what's included in the kit: 4 nail painting brushes, 6 types of glitter, striping tape, nail stickers, nail rhinestones, more nail stickers, nail art sealer polish and practice nails.
There are 2 different versions of this kit with different color glitter, rhinestones and nail stickers. It is a great starter kit that contains everything you need to do nail art. $9.99 is the cost for the starter kit. I think it's a great price for what you get. I have seen this available at Walgreens and Rite Aid. There were 6 or 7 new limited edition shades from the N.Y.Color display 'Samba Summer' that I saw at Rite Aid this week. I picked up 2 shades a blue lavender called Jacaranda Flower and a pink coral called Tropicoral. The formula for Tropicoral was awful. It was thick and streaky. It was messy to apply. Jacaranda Flower was a better formula. The first coat dried very sheer and streaky. But the 2nd coat went on smoother. Both colors are perfect summer colors though. Overall I wasn't impressed by either polish. The Coral polish had horrible application. They are pretty colors though and for $1.99 each you can't go wrong. I might try another one in the future just because the colors and price are great.
