But there is one thing that boggles my mind. Why the Halloween displays now?
One day I go to Rite and they have 2 or 3 new cosmetic displays and the next day I go to Rite Aid and its like the magical makeup elves worked overtime to stock the display shelf with wonderful new cosmetics.
But there is one thing that boggles my mind. Why the Halloween displays now?

At Rite Aid I saw a few new cosmetic displays including some new brands. Piggy Polish is now at Rite Aid. I have only seen these at Ulta. Each bottle comes with a cute toe ring. This is the new packaging for the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips. I saw the not yet fully stocked 'Rio Rush' displays by Revlon at 2 Rite Aids. I purchased both new eyeshadow colors. At Rite Aid there is a new L.A. Girl display with 'Feathered' polish. On the right is a close up. It looks like white and colored matte bar glitter. ($2.99)
On my epic Dollar Tree trip last week I picked up 2 L.A. Colors eyeshadow trio's. 2 palettes really caught my eye. I thought they were gorgeous color combinations. The pattern on the shadow was very pretty as well. This palette is called Sunflower. I love coppery bronze eye shadows because I feel they bring out my blue eyes. The colors on the left are without primer and the colors on the right are over E.L.F. Eyelid Primer ($1). The first color in the palette, the golden brown, is fairly light when I swatched it. The coppery bronze and chocolate brown were pretty pigmented without primer. They went on smooth and I went over each swatch twice with the foam applicator. The colors over primer are incredible. They are very pigmented and go on as smooth as butter. Each swatch only required one swipe to come out that pigmented. I really like this trio and it will definitely be part of my daily makeup train case. I also loved this Shadow color combination. It is called Water Lilly. I even like the name. I like trying bold and colorful eye looks and I am excited to use these. The seafoam blue green was a little light on the first swatch without primer. I went over it a couple of times with the applicator but it didn't build up. The purple mauve and turquoise blue were pretty pigmented after switching them twice. Like the first palette, these colors were incredible over primer. They were lightly shimmery and the colors were beautiful. Overall I was really impressed with these shadows. They were nicely pigmented, especially over primer. They were not crumbly and there was not a lot of fall out. For $1 each, they did not feel like 'cheap' eyeshadows. I will definitely grab another one next time I go to dollar tree, especially if they have more beautiful color combinations like this. You can find these at Dollar Tree Stores or online at drugstore.com or lacolors.com
These are the eye shadows that I picked up on my epic trip to Dollar Tree. I go past this one on my way to the Dr. every 2 weeks. I will be budget beauty hunting there twice a month. This was the best cosmetic haul I have ever had at Dollar Tree. I picked up an eye shadow trio by NYC called 'Concrete Jungle'. It has fairly pigmented shades of white, navy and grey. I thought this would be a great combination on the eyes. I then chose a Cover Girl crystal eyes eye shadow stick. It is an icy blue color. I tried it on and it goes on smooth and pigmented. It has a nice consistency. My next step it to try out the staying power of the shadow. I will wear it to work this week to see how long it stays on. I bought a Milani single eye shadow. It was a champagne color. They had another color, a forest green, but I figured the champagne color would get more use. Finally I chose 2 L.A. Colors eyeshadow trios. The colors look SO beautiful. Thats what drew me to them. The trio are also available online at drugstore.com or even on eBay. I am definitely going to swatch these colors. I really hope I'm not disappointed because they are such pretty colors.
