I was really impressed when I saw this that I immediately had to have it. It was $9.99 at Harmon. I initially was reluctant to spend $10 but then I realized how many colors there were and thought of the possibilities. $10 really is a bargain considering what you are getting. Some shadows are $8-$10 for 3 or 4. Plus palettes like the Urban Decay Nakeds cost $54 dollars and have similar colors as this Maybelline palette. I felt comfortable and excited about my splurge discount buy.
I saw this also at CVS today and it retailed for $12.99. There was also new foundation, Kajal Eyeliners and new leather Color Tattoos in the display.
It comes with an angled tip foam applicator. It has no mirror which is kind of a bummer. On the back it has tips on what combinations of colors to use to achieve a certain look.
I swatched these in order going from up to down the columns. I just couldnt get a good picture of them. The swatches truly do these shadows no justice. I Haaaaate the Maybelline eyeshadow singles, shadow trio's and quads. The formula and pigmentation are awful to me. I tend to like bolder and brighter eyeshadows. But I LOVE the color Tatoo's and Color Plush eyeshadows. I was hoping these shadows would be closer to the Color Plush shadows. The formula was good for these shadows. There were matte and shimmer colors. There was a nice range of browns and creams. The top left and the last brown on top of the black area are my favorites out of the palette. I used this for my eyes one day this week for work to test it out. The colors went on very smooth. They blended nicely. I usually am not a fan of browns but I like these a lot. This will make me use browns more in my makeup routine. I paired the browns with the Maybelline Pumped Up Mascara in glam brown. The mascara goes nice with the brown shades. I definitely recommend this palette if you like neutral or nude colors. Even if you don't it might change your mind like mine. |
