This is a good week to pick up Revlon and Physicians Formula. At Rite Aid they are each 40% off. I got a lot of polish this week. I also got a few Maybelline items. At CVS I spent $10 for $48 worth of products and at Rite Aid I spent $4 for $45 worth of products. I purchased 3 Maybelline polishes from CVS and Rite Aid. The black with gold glitter is from the permanent collection and the pastel neons are from the limited edition 'Bleached Neons' collection. ($4.19). I also got a really pretty lilac Color Whisper lipstick. It is very pink with a ting of lilac on the lips. I really like it. ($7.99). I picked up the final limited edition EyeStudio shadow quad in green shades.($9.99) I picked up 2 Physicians Formula cosmetics from CVS and received $10 extra Bucks. I tried the new Va Va Voom mascara $9.99 and shimmer strips eyeliners in grey, silver and black. physicians formula has some of my favorite liners. I bought the $14.99 Bronzer for 40% off at Rite Aid and it had a $5 off coupon attached so it ended up being around $3. (Sorry for the blurry pic) At Rite Aid if you bought 2 Triple Shine Polishes you received $3 Up Rewards. I picked up 2 new shades from their tropical summer display. $4.99. (There are .50 cent off Sally Hansen Polish coupons on www.coupons.com) I got each of these Almay glosses for $1.99. They were $5.99 and I used a $4 off Almay coupon. If you spent $10 at CVS on Almay you received $3 Extra Bucks. I took advantage of the 40% off at Rite Aid and purchased a few Revlon polishes. I also used $1 off MFC. I got one of the new tan Revlon Rio collection lipsticks for 40% off at Rite Aid. I also used a $1 off coupon from www.coupons.com.

My April Ipsy bag came in the mail today. Ipsy is a subscription service that sends you cosmetic bags filled with customized products. They also offer deals from participating brands if you want to purchase something else. The best part is that it is only $10 a month. I also received a trial sized Urban Decay 24/7 velvet eyeliner. I also received a eyeshadow mousse by City Color called White Gold. This is a lipgloss pot by Cailyn. It comes with a brush built into the top. It is a matte gloss in a rose brown color.
In the new 'bleached neon' Maybelline displays are 5 or 6 new limited edition polishes. They are pastel neon colors. ($4.19 each) The colors I purchased were 'Bleached in Peach', 'Lime Accent' and 'Coral Heat'.
It took me 4 or 5 coats depending on the color for the polish to be opaque. The polish went on smooth and wasn't too thin. If you have the time and don't mind doing 4 or 5 coats, these are great cream summer colors. Marshall's and TJ Maxx can be a gold mine for budget beauty buys. They have brands from NARS to E.L.F. I picked up 2 polish sets on my latest trip. I picked up a trio from E.L.F. And a mini set of O.P.I. Polishes from the Mariah Carey holiday collection. Each set was only $3! The E.L.F. Trio had a navy with glitter, a sheer purple and a steel grey with holographic glitter. I had to use 4 coats for the purple. 2 coats worked well with the navy and grey. Even though they are winter colors, I really like the colors. There was a wine red, a warm brown, a gold micro glitter with black glitter and a gold and silver micro glitter. They all had great consistency and were smooth on application.
This eyeshadow quad called 'Wild' is from the new Rio Rush Collection. They are 4 matte colors that are supposed to last '16 hours'. There are 2 new eyeshadow quads in this collection. ($7.99)
These eyeshadows were on clearance at Target for $4.18. Using a $4 off Almay coupon I paid .18 cents for both shadows.
There were some pretty good deals this week at CVS and Rite Aid. I picked up a lot of polish and lip products. I received $15 Up Rewards from Rite Aid for my purchases and $22 in ExtraBucks at CVS for my purchases. I also picked up a gel eyeliner with brush from a limited edition Maybelline Collection. It goes with the colored Plush mascaras. The brush makes for easy and smooth application. ($9.99) On one of the new Maybelline displays, I picked up a limited edition eyeshadow quad called 'Covetable Cobalt'. It was with the colored Plush mascaras. I bought the Navy one and this quad is supposed to compliment it. ($9.99) The bottom swatches are done with primer. The silver was a little powdery when I put the brush in to swatch it. I was a little surprised because with all the quads I have had, I have never had a powdery shadow. They usually have a very smooth, buttery consistency.
The white was pretty smooth. The white and silver stayed pretty well over the primer. The blue and Navy were very pigmented with and without primer. Both had great, smooth consistency and application. The navy has blue glitter. I like both these color and how they blend together. The blue and navy save this palette. I was very disappointed with the white and silver. I'm hesitant to buy another limited edition palette because of the inconsistency of the shadow formulas. I'm not a fan of Cover Girl but I love the polishes with the formula like this one. The color is called Midnight Magic. The new Nicole by O.P.I colors have been coming out the past few weeks. I'm a sucker for glitters, especially different shaped glitters.
Midnight Magic is a shimmery navy black polish. Along with the 'Catching Fire' glosstini's, this color is really multidimensional. Cover Girl polishes never caught my eye until they came out with ones with this formula. I love how glittery and multi colored it is. I can put this on my nails and will catch myself looking at it during the day. $5.99 each.
I love the Sally Girl limited edition mini polishes from Sally Beauty. They are .94 cents with the Sally Beauty Card. For the spring the polishes are pastel polishes with multi sized and multi colored glitter. You have to put quite a few coats on for it to become opaque.
I usually hate '24 hour' lip colors. The colors are too bold on me. You can't blot because once they dry, they are solid on the lips. When I saw this color, Starlit Pink, I actually wanted to try it. It looked light enough for me to wear all day.
I loved it on and will definitely put this into my lip product rotation. I don't like how it dries and sticks to every piece of dry skin on my lips but the topcoat moisturizers and takes care of it.($7.99-$9.99) I really like the Sally Hansen Satin Glam polishes. They dry to a semi matte finish. I like it because it gives a little something different to solid colored polish. I love glitter. What a surprise! I always feel lost without glitter nails. But if I use the Satin Glam polish, I actually like how the polish dries and I can forgo the glitter. ( you can kind of see the Satin Finish on the purple nail color below)
If you are looking for something a little 'dressed up' from solid nail color, try the Satin Glam polishes. $5.99 each. (There are .50 cent off Sally Hansen Polish coupons now available at www.coupons.com) There are two new Color Tattoo's from the new Spring/Summer neon collection. There is a shimmery purple called 'Sunwashed Sky' and a blue duo chrome called 'Shimmering Sea'. They look very similar in color but once you swatch them, you can see how very different they are. 'Sun washed Sky' on the left is a shimmery metallic lavender. It is pretty sheer so you will have to build it up to be opaque.
'Shimmering Sea' on the right is a very interesting shadow. It is a metallic blue that changes to gold duochrome shadow. I put this one on my eyes after I swatched it. It is pretty opaque. I let the first coat dry and then applied another one. It is a pretty shadow that looks great on its own. It is a great shadow for me when Im in a rush in the morning. They were $6.99 each at Walgreens and this week at Walgreens Maybelline eyeshadows are BOGO 50%. Walgreens has been putting up the new displays faster than CVS or Rite Aid. I saw these displays today. Maybelline has quite a few new items.
